DDD authoring and runtime data¶
This reference uses Tala 31.0.1 as the DDD language baseline. Start with the task you need to do:
| Developer task | Start here |
|---|---|
| Understand the DDD component model | DDD source formats |
| Choose or inspect the source syntax | Domain XML · DDD JSON |
| Define goals and dialogue flow | Domain declarations · Plan items |
| Define typed vocabulary | Ontology XML |
| Connect goals to application operations | Service Interface XML |
| Read or produce semantic expressions | Semantic expressions and moves |
| Understand persisted dialogue state | DME information state |
The runtime uses related but distinct representations:
| Representation | Purpose |
|---|---|
| DDD XML / DDD JSON | Definition sources for domain, ontology, and service interface. |
| Semantic expressions | Compact syntax for propositions, questions, goals, and moves. |
| Interaction JSON | Handler/Pipeline request and response envelope. |
| TIS JSON / JSON:API | Persisted and transferred DME information state. |
| ODB | Runtime offer data used to load DDDs and dialogue settings. |
Do not confuse DDD JSON with JSON:API serialization of compiled model objects, or either of those with the interaction envelope. See the runtime architecture and the Handler/Pipeline references for the request path. Check syntax and behavior against this Tala 31.0.1 reference.
